Alerts and replay

A line that tells you when price crosses it, and the market played again from a moment in the past.

All pages/Alerts and replay

Price alerts

  1. 01Right-click the chart at a price and choose Add Price Alert.
  2. 02A line appears at that price. Drag it to move the alert.
  3. 03When price crosses it, the terminal plays a sound and says so, and the alert is listed in the Alerts window.

An alert fires once. Arm Price Alert Again, in the line's menu, sets it again; Remove Price Alert deletes it.

An instrument with an armed alert stays connected even when no chart shows it.

Alerts are watched while the terminal is open. Nothing is sent anywhere, and nothing watches while it is closed.

Flow alerts

The Alerts window also lists what happened in the order flow while you were looking elsewhere: sweeps, liquidations and the book leaning. These are raised for the instrument of the chart you are on.

Market replay

  1. 01Right-click the chart at the moment you want and choose Replay Market From Here.
  2. 02A band across the top says REPLAY, the instrument and the replay's clock. Play, pause, step one bar, or choose a speed from 1x to 120x.
  3. 03Exit replay returns to the live market.

Everything on the chart is cut at the replay's clock: bars form, the footprint fills and the tape runs as they did, and nothing later than the clock is shown.

Orders placed in a replay go to a practice account of its own, which is discarded when you leave. A real order is never sent from a replay.

What a replay does not do

  • Options gamma and the far book are readings of the present, and are off during a replay.
  • A replay takes the place of that instrument's live chart. Another instrument's chart beside it stays live.
  • If capture was interrupted at that moment, there is nothing to play until the gap ends.
