Ways of building a bar

A chart is built from bars, and a bar does not have to be an interval of time. Choose the rule in the bar picker at the top of the chart.

Time
A bar per interval of the clock: any number of seconds, minutes, hours or days.
Notional
A bar closes after a set amount of money has changed hands, so a bar means the same thing at every price.
Range
A bar closes once price has travelled a set share of itself, however long that takes.
Renko
Bricks of a fixed share of price: a new one is drawn only when price moves a whole brick.
Line break
A new line is drawn only when the close breaks past the last few lines.
Volume
A bar closes after a set amount of the instrument has traded.
Delta
A bar closes once buying and selling have differed by a set amount.
Prints
A bar closes after a set number of trades.

Generated from the terminal's own code, so it lists what the current build has.

The sizes offered for volume, money, trades and delta bars come from what the instrument actually trades, so a bitcoin chart and a thin market are not offered the same numbers.

Moving around

  • Scroll to zoom in and out around the pointer.
  • Drag to move through time and price.
  • Follow Live Price, in the chart's menu, returns to the present and stays there.

Cursors

The cursor decides what a drag does. Pick it from the toolbar.

Arrow
Select and edit drawings, with a plain arrow.
Pan
Drag anywhere to move the chart; nothing is picked up.
Zoom
Drag a box to zoom into it.
CrosshairV
Crosshair lines, with the time and price on the axes.
Linked crosshair
The crosshair, marked at the same time and price on every chart.

Generated from the terminal's own code, so it lists what the current build has.

Several charts, several instruments

Add a chart from Workspace, or with New chart in a chart's menu. Each chart has its own instrument and its own bars, so BTCUSDT and ETHUSDT can sit side by side, both live.

The Depth Ladder, the Trade Panel and the other panels follow the chart you last clicked.

The linked crosshair marks the same time and price on every chart at once.

Templates

Save Template, in the chart's menu, stores how a chart looks and what it shows. Save as Default makes new charts start that way.
